The Belmont - Shanklin, Isle of Wight

The House

Still retaining a Victorian elegance and warmth, the Belmont Hotel has been tastefully furnished and renovated to offer you all the modern facilities of guest accommodation in elegant surroundings.

Standing in mature grounds well back from the road behind Keats Green, the Belmont enjoys peace and privacy, yet is ideally located a short stroll to the picturesque thatched Old Village and wooded Shanklin Chine, beach and town centre.

The colonial-style veranda, spanning the front of the Belmont, is a delightful spot to settle down with a book or newspaper in the morning sun whilst imagining the grandeur of victorian guests of past sitting in the same spot. On a warm evening guests gather to reminisce over their days adventures.

Relax in the suntrap garden by the quiet heated pool, and unwind from every day stresses, the garden benefits from the sun most of the day till early evening.

Enjoy the many health benefits of our therapeutic detox cabin in comfortable, relaxing surroundings.

Indoors, you can sit in our comfortable lounge where tea and coffee is available through-out the day and admire the view of the cliff-top church or challenge your partner with one of the many games at your disposal.

Breakfast is served in our modern breakfast room which was originally built as the sun lounge and has an outlook over the rear garden.

Evening meals – We don’t cater for evening meals but there are some excellent pubs and restaurants in the Old Village and on the seafront, all within a 5-minute walk.

Please note, in keeping with the distinctive period style of the building, we do not have a lift. We have 14 steps from the carpark to the front door where we have the Luxury superking/twin (Room 20) with a bath available. The Luxury Double (Room 2) is located up 2 flights of stairs.

I stayed in Room 20 and it was lovely. The hotel is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay (3 x nights). The breakfast was delicious with a good choice. Linda & Des were really welcoming and friendly. There were lots of lovely little touches around in the room and throughout the hotel (little shop with snacks, essentials you may have forgotten etc) There are lots of accommodation choices in the area, but I would thoroughly recommend The Belmont Hotel. An absolute gem!
